Sunday morning news- Mikel Arteta is seriously trying to get rid of ‘very intelligent’ 23 years old star as he doesn’t want to work with him again- Player could fly to another PL club this month
Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal are now actively trying to offload Albert Sambi Lokonga to Burnley, according to a report.
The Sun have reported that Arsenal are trying to sell midfielder Albert Sambi Lokonga to Burnley in the summer transfer window.
Burnley manager Vincent Kompany wants to sign Lokonga for the promoted Premier League club, but the former Manchester City defender is struggling to get a deal done.
The 23-year-old Belgium international midfielder wants to be sure about his next move after a disappointing loan spell at Crystal Palace.
According to The Sun, Arsenal are willing to sell the youngster and Burnley are ready to buy him, but a loan deal for next season could be “the eventual solution”.
What should Albert Sambi Lokonga do about Arsenal and Burnley?
In our opinion, Albert Sambi Lokonga should seriously consider leaving Arsenal for Burnley in the summer transfer window, at least on a loan deal.
That the Gunners are trying to get rid of him indicates that manager Mikel Arteta has no plans for him next season.
Arteta described the youngster as “a very intelligent player who has shown great maturity in his performances during his development” on Arsenal’s official website in July 2021, but it seems that the Spaniard does not think that he fits into his team anymore.
And that Kompany wants him at Burnley shows that his Belgian compatriot has plans for Lokonga.
Lokonga played under current Burnley manager Kompany at Anderlecht, and it is clear that the former City defender still rates him.
