Arsenal

“Arsenal’s Fourth signing is on his way”- Arsenal are now ‘seriously’ pushing to land 6’feet tall £50M striker who offers a great aerial presence in the box- He scored more World Cup goals than Wayne Rooney at a very young age- An interesting transfer for Arsenal

Arsenal reportedly remain interested in signing Barcelona star Ferran Torres this summer, as per 90min.

After joining the Blaugrana at the beginning of last year from Manchester City, the 23-year-old struggled to find his feet in La Liga and found himself on the periphery for the majority of his time at Camp Nou.

So, speculation surrounding his future continues to grow over the last few months and it has been suggested that Barcelona are ready to cash-in on him to balance the books amid their financial difficulties.

It initially looked like Arsenal were looking to take advantage of this situation and sign him this summer to strengthen their attack. However, despite spending over £200m in this transfer window, they haven’t made a concrete approach to acquire his service yet. So, it was thought that Arsenal have cooled down their interest in the Spaniard.

Torres to Arsenal

However, according to the report by 90min, Arsenal are looking to sign a new winger to bolster their wide areas this summer and are interested in signing Torres.

It has previously been reported that Barcelona are ready to let their star man leave for as little as £30M. So, Arsenal could manage to sign the forward for an affordable fee if they formalise their interest.

However, having already splashed more than £200m this summer, it has been reported that Arsenal will now need to sell some players to raise funds before re-focusing on adding more firepower during the later stages of this window.

Although Torres failed to showcase his best for Barcelona in recent times, he is an extremely talented forward and possesses high potential. So, he would be a great signing for Arsenal with a view to the long-term future if they sign him this summer.

The 23-year-old likes to play in the right-wing position but he can be deployed anywhere across the frontline. He is quick, technically sound, can deliver excellent crosses from wide areas, has the ability to create chances for fellow attackers and also can finish off his chances.

It is going to be interesting to see whether Arsenal eventually opt to formalise their interest in signing Torres to bolster their flank in this transfer window.
