According to TMW, Arsenal are interested in signing David Raya from London and Premier League rivals Brentford in the summer transfer window.
The report has claimed that Arsenal are now “discussing internally to present” a bid to Brentford for goalkeeper Raya “in the coming hours”.
TMW has claimed that Bayern Munich have decided not to pursue their interest in the 27-year-old Spain international, who was described as “a top-class goalkeeper” by former Liverpool and Manchester United striker Michael Owen on Premier League Productions (06/03/23 at 7:35 pm).
The Athletic has claimed that Arsenal are exploring a deal for Raya, adding that Brentford are aware of interest from the Gunners in the former Blackburn Rovers goalkeeper.
David Raya would be a good signing for Arsenal
In our opinion, Brentford goalkeeper David Raya would be a very good signing for Arsenal in the summer transfer window.
Raya is one of the best goalkeepers in the Premier League.
The Spain international is very good with the ball at his feet and is superb at stopping shots.
At 27, Raya is at the top of his game, and we believe that he would be a really good player for Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta to have in his squad.
Aaron Ramsdale is the clear number one goalkeeper at Arsenal at the moment, and Raya would push him really hard.
Given that Raya has been the first-choice goalkeeper at Brentford years, he would be determined to replace Ramsdale in the Arsenal starting lineup.
And that would push Ramsdale to get even better
The Spaniard has made 62 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career.
Raya has kept 20 clean sheets in those matches.
