HERE WE GO: Player’s agent has arrived in London after Arsenal have agreed to sign £50M star who Chelsea wants to sign his teammate- He’s seen as the best replacement to Gabriel- Announcement imminent

Arsenal are reportedly eyeing up a move to sign Marc Guehi from Crystal Palace this summer, as a potential replacement for Gabriel.

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta will obviously not want to lose the 25-year-old Brazilian – he has been a key player for the Spaniard since he signed him in 2020.

However, money talks. And if a club from the Saudi Pro League come knocking for Gabriel, it would be no surprise at all if the Gunners sell him for a huge profit.

Should that happen though, Arteta will have to sign a top-class defender to come in and replace the former Lille ace. And the Arsenal manager seemingly has an elite player lined up for that particular scenario…

Arsenal could sign Marc Guehi as a replacement for Gabriel
The Gunners are said to be eyeing up a move to sign the four-capped England international, should Gabriel leave this summer.

The main thing to point out here is that Arteta needs to do everything in his power to keep Gabriel at the Emirates. He was definitely one of the best centre-backs in world football last season.

However, if Arsenal are forced into selling him due to a massive offer from a Saudi club, then there aren’t many better options out there to replace him than Marc Guehi. The Palace defender was truly elite last season.

BBC Sport reporter Alex Howell described the 23-year-old as ‘incredible’ last season. Football.London recently claimed that Guehi is valued at £50 million at the very least by Crystal Palace.

He’s incredibly quick along the ground, strong in the air and reads the game with aplomb. There weren’t many better centre-backs in the Premier League than Guehi last season. And if the Gunners do lose Gabriel, the Palace defender will be a more than adequate replacement for the Brazilian.
