Martin Odegaard hails Manchester United’s ‘extremely good’ £23m target
Manchester United target Antonio Nusa is catching the eye of Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard with the Club Brugge wonderkid potentially set to join his Norway team-mate in the Premier League in 2024.
With Arsenal also hot on the 18-year-old’s heels, Mikel Arteta and co may be hoping for a leg-up from ‘Agent Odegaard’ as the race for one of Europe’s most exciting young forwards heats up.
According to 90Min, scouts on behalf of Newcastle, Liverpool and Arsenal are flocking to Belgium to watch the fleet-footed Antonio Nusa in action.
Manchester United too, per Belgian journalist Pieter-Jan Calcoen. The likely departure of Jadon Sancho throwing open the door for a teenager who’s maturity off the pitch and his end-product on it belies his tender age.

“It’s nice to see young Norwegian players who dare to show themselves. They dribble and challenge (the opposition). And, as soon as Nusa comes off the bench, he becomes dangerous,” captain Odegaard tells VG.
“It’s fun to watch and it’s nice to have them here. (The youngsters) deserve to be here, and they are showing that they belong at this level.”
Nusa, who only celebrated his 18th birthday in the spring, is average more than a goal or an assist per game in Norway colours. He has four assists and one goal from four caps already, catching the eye again during Sunday’s 1-0 defeat to Spain.
“He is in good shape. And you can see that, as soon as he gets the ball, he goes straight for (the goal),” Odegaard adds. “He is extremely good at it. He is good.”
Jadon Sancho’s replacement?
Club Brugge reportedly value Nusa at around £23 million. Chelsea came close to signing him over the summer, only for the one-time Stabaek whizkid to turn down a move to Stamford Bridge in favour of more regular first-team football in Belgium.
“I can see similarities to Neymar in Nusa’s movements and in the way he uses the ball,” his former team-mate at Norwegian outfit Stabaek, Mats Solheim, tells Goal.
“There is still a small gap between them. But he can get there (and reach Neymar’s level).”
