Former attacker turned pundit Jermaine Pennant has urged Arsenal to sign a new prolific goal-scorer like Ivan Toney to reinforce their frontline in January.
The Gunners have reportedly started to explore the possibility of signing a new attacker in the upcoming transfer window to reinforce the squad and challenge on all fronts. A few names have been linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium in recent weeks with Toney emerging as a serious target.
Now, speaking on newbettingsites.co.uk(via London World), Pennant has said that Toney is a proven goal-scorer and works extremely hard without possession. So, he would be a great coup for Arsenal if they manage to secure his signature.
The pundit further states that Toney would be a perfect signing for Arsenal so it would be surprising should the Gunners don’t purchase the Englishman in January.

However, it has been reported that Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea are also plotting a swoop for him so it is going to be difficult for the Emirates club in getting any potential deal done for the Brentford star next year.
Brentford are reportedly ready to sell their star man in January if they receive an offer of around £60m and the player is open to taking the next step in his career. So, Arsenal can manage to purchase him if they formalise their interest.
Toney is a top-class striker and would be a great signing for the North London club should they manage to sign him in the winter window. However, the striker is currently suspended for eight months and his ban will be lifted in January next year. So, there is a question mark whether he can continue performing at his best after returning from a long lay-off.
