The Belgian came off the bench to equalise at Stamford Bridge following Declan Rice’s long-range effort.

And the attacker paid tribute to our work ethic as two late goals maintained our unbeaten start to the Premier League campaign.

“It’s really well done to the boys to not get our heads down, and keep on working,” he said after the match. “That’s how you can even win games as well. We need to take that with us and focus on the next game.

“I’m really pleased [to score], obviously it’s nice if you can help the team with either a goal or an assist, and today, that went my way and I’m happy it gave us a point.”

Giving an insight into what changed at half-time, he said: “It’s not easy to have an explanation on that, but we just changed the gear in the second half a bit more.

“We played better, we were more aggressive, and you have to win your duels as well. I think we did better in the second half, and we can score goals like that.”

Our next match is against Sevilla in the UEFA Champions League and Trossard is hopeful of taking the same spirit into the contest in Spain.

“We’re going to approach that game the same way we wanted to win this game as well. It’s a Champions League game and we’re looking forward to it.”
