‘I’m going to walk off’… Ian Wright fuming with what Gary Neville has now said about Arsenal
Arsenal’s game against Newcastle on Saturday evening was filled with controversy.
The Gunners lost 1-0 to a goal that could have been disallowed for three different reasons, while there were also two dodgy red card decisions that weren’t given.
As you can imagine, a game like this has caused all sorts of debate in the footballing world, and speaking on Stick to Football, Gary Neville and Ian Wright have disagreed with each other over this match.
Neville reckons that the referee’s decision to award Newcastle’s goal on Sunday wasn’t a terrible decision, but Wright wholly disagreed, stating that he was ready to walk-off the show over their differing views.

The pair disagreed on the refereeing call on Saturday.
“Is the Newcastle goal on Saturday a howler? It’s not a howler,” Neville said.
“Of course it’s a howler! We’re talking about minimal contact on penalties and this man has two hands on his back. I’m going to walk off bro. I can’t deal with the anger which is starting to build up in me. How can you lot be honestly talking about minimal contact for penalties,” Wright said.
“And people will say oh it’s because it’s Arsenal but it’s not because it’s Arsenal it’s because he’s got two hands on his back!”
Tough one
It’s really hard to judge this one.
On one hand, this goal could’ve been disallowed for a number of reasons, but, at the same time, each incident in isolation doesn’t look too bad.
Yes, there was a shove on Gabriel, but that’s nothing we haven’t seen umpteen times in the Premier League over the years.
These debates are so difficult to judge, and we can understand why Wright, as an Arsenal fan, views things differently to Neville here.
