Brazil’s national team doctor has hinted that Gabriel Jesus is yet to recover from injury despite the Arsenal striker being called up for international service.
As per journalist Chris Wheatley, Rodrigo Lasmar has confirmed that Brazil are working alongside Arsenal to determine which course of action is best for Jesus during his latest injury setback.
The attacker is once again out on the treatment table after suffering a thigh problem that has kept the 26-year-old since October, with Arsenal missing Jesus’ threat in attack.
Indeed, this latest update is the last thing Arsenal fans wanted to hear, and it is now likely that Jesus won’t feature at all for Brazil in their November fixtures this month.
Lasmar said: “We have maintained contact with the club’s medical department and the athlete. He is recovering from a muscle injury to the back of his right thigh.
“I’ll talk to the doctors and Edu. He did not do any training with the team, is far from returning, and has internal communication between clubs and national teams.”

Brazil were always taking a risk in naming Jesus in their squad for this month’s international fixtures, and the decision has now seemingly back-fired in frustrating fashion.
Jesus now looks set to miss every international game this November as the forward has now made the long journey to South America, when a stay in north London could have been better.
With Martin Odegaard remaining in England, Brazil and Arsenal should have come to a similar decision with Jesus rather than flying the forward halfway around the world for a game the forward won’t be playing in.
And now, Arsenal fans must sit and wait with the hope that Jesus doesn’t suffer a setback, with the striker badly missed ahead of the Premier League’s return at the end of this month.
