‘In love with him’… Gabriel Jesus says Arsenal 22-year-old has the quality to have a special career

Gabriel Jesus has suggested that he is in love with Bukayo Saka, insisting that he has always known that his Arsenal teammate has the potential to enjoy a special career.

Jesus was speaking on beIN Sports after helping Arsenal wrap up top spot in their Champions League group by thrashing Lens 6-0 at the Emirates.

It was an outstanding night in which six different players found the back of the net. Unsurprisingly, Gabriel Jesus and Bukayo Saka were amongst them.

Gabriel Jesus says he’s in love with Bukayo Saka

In fact, it was Saka who set up Jesus for his brilliant goal during the first-half. The 22-year-old now leads the way in the Champions League this season for goals and assists combined.

That will come as no shock to the Arsenal fans who have watched Saka kick on over the last five years. And it seems that Gabriel Jesus was just as confident that big things would lie ahead for the England international.

The striker shared how he has been a fan of Saka for a long time. And his admiration has only grown since becoming his teammate in 2022.

“When I played against him I already thought he had a lot of potential to achieve very good things in his career. But also I’m more in love with him because he’s such a nice guy, so humble. I’m happy for him because he deserves it,” he told beIN Sports.

Arsenal star still has room for improvement

Seven goal contributions in five games is an absolutely outrageous return. And it is scary to think that he is only going to improve further in the years to come.

Of course, Saka came into the side when Arsenal seemed to have little direction. He quickly became one of the only positives about that side at that time.

Saka has since developed into a talisman, with seven goals and nine assists in the league and Champions League this season. In total, he has 95 goal contributions in 198 games in all competitions.

And with Arsenal now surrounding him with the likes of Gabriel Jesus and Martin Odegaard, it appears to be a matter of time before Saka gets his hands on more silverware.
