Richard keys has slammed Mikel Arteta after the Arsenal boss picked up another booking during today’s clash against Brighton.

Arsenal were left frustrated after dominating the first half but failing to find a breakthrough against a resilient Brighton backline.

Bukayo Saka caused James Milner huge problems down the right-hand side and was heavily involved throughout the opening period.

The 22-year-old setup Gabriel Martinelli for a huge opportunity towards the end of the half. But the Brazilian blazed his effort over the bar. 

As the Gunners grew more frustrated, tempers began to boil over on the touchline and Mikel Arteta was involved once again.

The Spaniard was left furious after Kaoru Mitoma pulled back Saka just before halftime. The Brighton winger was eventually booked and Arteta also picked up a yellow card due to his protests. 

And it’s fair to say that Ian Wright was unimpressed with the Arsenal boss’ behaviour.

Speaking on beIN SPORTS, Keys reacted to Arteta picking up another booking after the Arsenal boss was also forced to watch from the stands at Aston Villa last weekend.

Andy Gray said: “Booked…” 

“Desgracia,” Ian responded. “The definition of madness – doing the same thing over and over and over again and expecting a different outcome.

“Booked. Mikel Arteta. It was only last week he was sat in the stands for accumulating three.”

Ian has certainly made his feelings on Arteta clear in the past as he’s often criticised the Gunners boss over his behaviour on the touchline.

The Spaniard had already picked up three yellow cards before today’s clash, which led to him watching on from the stands in the 1-0 defeat at Villa Park last Saturday. 

It’s fair to say that Arteta has received plenty of criticism due to his antics on the touchline during his spell in North London. 

Yet, the Arsenal boss’ mood would have certainly improved shortly after halftime as Gabriel Jesus headed his side ahead. 

The Gunners eventually found a much-needed second goal through Kai Havertz in the 87th minute and picked up a well-deserved three points.
