He’s too quick’: Pundit says Arsenal have a player who is just impossible to deal with
Declan Rice has been a revelation since signing for Arsenal this summer.
The midfielder has brought a serious element of calm and control to this Arsenal midfield, and he’s played a massive part in the Gunners’ ascension to the top of the league this year.
Rice has been utterly fantastic since signing for Arsenal, and against Brighton on Sunday, he absolutely ran the show.
Speaking in the Handbrake Off Podcast, Adrian Clarke has been discussing Rice’s showing against the Seagulls, and he says it looked like he was playing against children at times, claiming that he was too quick, too powerful and too dominant for Brighton to deal with him.
Rice too dominant
Clarke shared his verdict on Rice’s showing.
“He was like a player in a youth game who was 16 and the others were 12. He’s too quick, too powerful, too dominant and they couldn’t get past him. He did lots of other things as well that were great. It was an epic performance from Rice,” Clarke said.
Embarrassing
It’s almost embarrassing watching these players try to stop Rice when he’s playing like this.
As Clarke says, his physical advantages make him look like he’s playing against children sometimes, he can outrun, outmuscle or out-think almost any player in the league.
Make no mistake about it, Brighton are no mugs, but Rice treated their midfield as though they were Sunday League players who’d turned up to play in the Premier League.
Rice has games like this where he’s utterly unplayable, and Arsenal are very lucky to have him in their team marshalling their midfield on a weekly basis.
Rice is becoming one of Arsenal’s very best players, and he’s looking like more and more of a bargain with each passing week.
