Arsenal face Liverpool on Saturday in what could be a huge game in the title race.
The Reds have been brilliant all season long, as have the Gunners, and the winner of this game will be top of the league at Christmas
This is a really well-balanced game between two top teams, and it may just take one standout performance to turn the tide in either team’s favour.
Speaking to The Anfield Wrap, Steven Gerard has been previewing this match, and he says that he’s more worried about Arsenal than he has been for a long time due to the fact the Gunners now have Declan Rice in the midfield.
Gerard worried about Rice
Gerard shared his concern ahead of this match.
“This is a game I’m really looking forward to. I’m not saying I’m worried about it, but this is probably the most worried I’ve been playing against Arsenal for the past three or four years because I think Declan Rice has really given them something extra from a strength point of view. I always felt we could overpower them, but now they’re a strong physical side,” Barnes said.
Difficult
Gerard is right to be worried about Rice, he’s a top player who could run the show on Saturday.
Liverpool’s midfield is brilliant, but they don’t have anyone with the sheer physicality that Rice possesses.
Ryan Gravenberch could be a match for the England international, and this is a huge chance for the Dutchman to prove his ability at the very top level.
Rice is a fantastic player, and he could well turn the tide against Liverpool this weekend.
Of course, this is a team game and there are other massive factors at play here, but if Rice plays his best on Saturday, the Reds will be facing an uphill battle against Mikel Arteta’s side.
