‘I’ve got a funny feeling’… Dennis Bergkamp now makes interesting claim about Liverpool and Arsenal

Dennis Bergkamp has claimed that Liverpool are the biggest threat to Arsenal in the race for the Premier League title.

The Arsenal legend has been speaking about his former side’s chances of ending their long wait for another league title.

Arsenal’s last league title came back in 2003 and Dennis Bergkamp was part of the side that made history as they avoided defeat throughout the campaign.

There have been plenty of nearly moments since but Mikel Arteta seems to have the Gunners on the cusp of achieving something special.

Indeed, the Spaniard narrowly missed out on the title last season after leading the way for the majority of the campaign. But with Manchester City showing signs of slowing down this season, Arsenal have a real shot of ending their 20-year wait for a title.

And despite City’s dominance over the past four years, Bergkamp believes that Liverpool pose the biggest threat to Arsenal’s title challenge.

Speaking on Seaman says, the Arsenal legend was asked which side he thinks will cause Arteta the biggest problems in the race for the title.

“I think Liverpool,” he said. “I’ve got a funny feeling. I saw that game yesterday and they showed the bench, two players were coming on and I was like ‘Oh, wait a minute. They’ve got him, him and him.’

“They were all injured. They all have to come back and if they come back at the right time, they might have a chance to win.”

Jurgen Klopp’s men sit a point behind the Gunners after being held to a goalless draw against Manchester United last weekend.

Gary Neville has backed Arsenal to pick up a rare win at Anfield on Saturday. But Jamie Carragher can’t see Liverpool losing on home soil.

It should be an intriguing clash this weekend between two of the best sides in the division at the moment.

Bergkamp makes a great point about Liverpool’s strength in depth, particularly in the attacking areas. And at this moment in time, they look set to push Arsenal all the way.
