Rio Ferdinand names the Arsenal player who is ‘an unsung hero’

Rio Ferdinand has given his verdict on Arsenal winger Leandro Trossard after watching him in action against Crystal Palace at the Emirates Stadium.

The former Manchester United star and TNT Sports pundit believes that Trossard brings something different to Arsenal.

So, what has Rio Ferdinand said about Arsenal winger Leandro Trossard? Let’s take a look.

Rio Ferdinand praises Arsenal winger Leandro Trossard

Well, Arsenal winger Leandro Trossard was in action against Crystal Palace at the Emirates Stadium in the Premier League on Saturday.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta deployed Trossard on the left of a three-man attack in a 4-3-3 formation. The winger scored the third goal for the Gunners. The North London club won 5-0.

Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand was following the match for TNT Sports, and he was impressed with Trossard and thinks that the £20 million (Sky Sports) former Brighton and Hove Albion winger is an unsung hero for the Gunners.

Ferdinand said about Trossard on TNT Sports 1 (2:41 pm, January 20, 2024): “I agree with Martin. He is probably an unsung hero. I think he is a player who does give them something different, and he does like to score goals.”

My View: Leandro Trossard could be massive in title quest

In my opinion, Leandro Trossard could play a big role for Arsenal in their quest to win the Premier League title this season.

Trossard is not a regular starter for Arsenal. It is Brazil international winger Gabriel Martinelli who starts as the left winger for the Gunners. That is not going to change anytime soon.

However, as he showed against Crystal Palace in the London derby on Saturday, Trossard is a valuable asset who can come into the team and make an impact. He is an important source of goals.

The 29-year-old winger has scored four goals and given one assist in seven starts and 10 substitute appearances in the Premier League this season. He has also scored two goals and given one assist in four starts and one substitute appearance in the UEFA Champions League.
