Arsenal now considered ‘crazy’ about signing £50m forward compared to Dennis Bergkamp
Arsenal will try to sign a new striker in the summer transfer window and Bologna star Joshua Zirkzee continues to be a name mentioned.
Zirkzee came up in the January window as a player of interest to a number of clubs, including Arsenal.
Tottenham are thought to be keen on the young forward as well, while Newcastle and Manchester United are also known to have cast their eye over him.
However, according to Italian outlet Calciomercato, it’s Arsenal who are considered the most likely club to go for Zirkzee when the summer window does open.
Arsenal among clubs ‘crazy’ about signing Joshua Zirkzee
According to the report from CM, there are a number of clubs who are keen on landing Zirkzee in the summer.
It’s claimed that Italian giants AC Milan and Napoli would both love to sign him but in the same copy, it’s suggested Arsenal are right in there.
Arsenal are apparently ‘very interested’ in signing Zirkzee and Bologna will demand around £40m and upwards to consider selling the forward, with a fee of £50m not ruled out.
The 22-year-old Dutchman is considered one of the hottest prospects in Europe and come the summer months, there could be a scrap on the cards.
One to watch
There’s a few players on the European market this summer who fans need to keep a close eye on and Joshua Zirkzee is definitely someone to watch out for.
Compared to Dutch legend and former Arsenal favourite Dennis Bergkamp, Zirkzee is very much making an impression in Italy that will be enough to seal him a move elsewhere.
Of course, we all know Arsenal need to add that extra forward to the ranks if they can. Even if they win the league, you’d still expect them to go out and land a new number nine.
Zirkzee, then, is very much in the right price and age range and could be a big player for the Gunners if they can get him signed.
