BREAKING: “I’ve just confirmed that Arsenal are the clear favourite to sign him by the end of season”- Transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano has just confirmed AGAIN that Arsenal are all set to sign £85M point man this summer as Mikel Arteta sees the player as the missing piece of his super team

‘Yes’ – Fabrizio Romano confirms again that Arsenal are definitely looking to sign an £85m player this summer
Arsenal are definitely considering a deal to sign Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting CP this summer.

So says Fabrizio Romano.

So, what’s the latest on Arsenal target Viktor Gyokeres? Let’s take a look…
Arsenal considering move for Viktor Gyokeres
The Mirror have previously claimed that Arsenal are keen to sign the Swedish international.

Now the reliable Romano has doubled down on the fact that Mikel Arteta is considering a move for Gyokeres, after being accused of pushing the Sporting CP No. 9 in the direction of Chelsea.

The Italian journalist wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter): “Literally said a month ago that Chelsea are not considering this deal and Arsenal yes 😄”.
It’s no surprise to hear that Arteta and Edu are considering a move for Gyokeres.

The Swede – who Arsenal are actively scouting – has enjoyed a remarkable season in Portugal since joining Sporting CP in a £20m deal from Coventry back in July 2023.

Gyokeres has scored 31 goals in just 34 appearances – and also 11 assists – putting him ahead of Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe in terms of the number of goal-scoring passes.

Arsenal have an easy – but expensive – way to sign Viktor Gyokeres
Arsenal need not waste time negotiating a transfer fee with Sporting CP this summer – as Gyokeres has a €100m (£85m) buyout clause written into his contract.

This was even confirmed on Sporting CP’s official website.

Arteta will – of course – have to negotiate with Gyokeres himself and convince him to join, although that shouldn’t be a problem given that Arsenal is one of the biggest clubs on the planet.
If the Gunners do manage to pull off this move, it would be a hugely exciting transfer given the 25-year-old’s amazing number of goal-scoring passes this season.

Be sure to keep an eye on this situation, as Gyokeres will certainly be one to watch in the summer transfer window.
