“TIME FOR NEW CHALLENGE”- Manchester United unwanted star Antony Martial swipes on Man United as he made a shocking Arsenal feeling very after he and Arsenal star William Saliba met at a pool party
Anthony Martial has already made his Arsenal feelings very clear as he leaves Man Utd
Anthony Martial has left Manchester United after nine years at the club and the French forward has previously spoken of Thierry Henry and his affection for Arsenal
Anthony Martial previously revealed he has something of an affinity for Arsenal – largely down to his love for Gunners legend Thierry Henry.
Martial recently left Manchester United after nine years and is in the market for a new club. He hasn’t been linked with a move to north London, but in 2018 revealed he has a soft spot for the Gunners due to the French legends who turned out for them.
In addition to Sylvain Wiltord, Emmanuel Petit, and Patrick Vieira, Arsenal played host to Nicholas Anelka, a man Martial hugely admires
The 28-year-old said: “I always followed English football. Manchester United because Patrice Evra was there and he comes from the same town as me.
“I followed Arsenal as Thierry Henry was there, also from Les Ulis. For my French heroes, I had Thierry Henry, of course, and then Zinedine Zidane, Zizou. They were the best. I admired strikers, No.10s. Another player who I really liked was Nicolas Anelka. He was a really great player, quick with loads of skill.”
Despite enduring an injury-riddled last season, where he made just 19 appearances across all competitions and scored only two goals, Martial tallied an impressive 90 goals in 317 games for United.
Following his departure from Manchester United, Martial posted a heartfelt farewell message after United’s triumphant win over Manchester City in the recent FA Cup final.
“I would also like to express my gratitude to all my team-mates, technical staff and all the members of the club I have met during my 9 years here,” the Frenchman wrote. “I am proud to have been able to share these experiences with you.
“Manchester United will always be in my heart. This club has left its mark on my career and offered me an incredible opportunity to play in front of you. I’m leaving to take on new challenges, I’ll always be a Red Devil and I’ll continue to follow the club’s results with passion. Thank you again for everything, and see you soon. With all my affection, Anthony Martial.”
