ARSENAL PREPARED TO SELL AARON RAMSDALE FOR £20M AMID WOLVES INTEREST

Arsenal are prepared to sell goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale for £20 million amid interest from Wolverhampton Wanderers, according to BBC Sport.

The Gunners are currently close to selling striker Eddie Nketiah to Crystal Palace. The Eagles have offered £25m plus £5m in add-ons which is likely to be accepted.

Ramsdale could be the next player heading for the exit door. Wolves held talks over an initial loan last week, but the Gunners prefer a permanent transfer deal.

Mikel Arteta’s side are eyeing £20m for the 26-year-old, but it is unclear whether Wolves will meet the asking price, considering their financial restrictions.

RAMSDALE MOST LIKELY TO LEAVE BEFORE DEADLINE
Ramsdale was brilliant during his first two seasons with the Gunners, but he lost his starting spot last term after the arrival of David Raya on an initial loan.

Raya was signed due to his better range of distribution and the Spaniard has established himself as the undisputed choice between the sticks for Arsenal.

Ramsdale may now want guaranteed minutes elsewhere during the prime of his career. Wolves can offer him that. He could takeover the gloves from Jose Sa.

£20m seems quite low for England’s second-choice goalkeeper, but his lack of playing time over the past year could be a reason behind the reduced valuation.

Arsenal have already identified a replacement for him. They have agreed terms with Espanyol’s Joan Garcia and could pursue a deal once Ramsdale leaves.

The Spaniard has a release clause worth £25m in his contract, but the Gunners should be optimistic of signing him for less before the transfer window closes.
