Newcastle United are focussing on outgoings at the minute. They are aiming to move players on to boost their PSR position, as well loaning young players out who could benefit from senior football.

Garang Kuol needs to be loaned out, but the latest Toon youth player to depart is Charlie McArthur.

Following the announcement, McArthur took to Instagram to celebrate the next chapter in his young career.

Alongside a picture of himself in a Carlisle United shirt, the 19-year-old wrote: “Delighted to be here! Can’t wait to get started.”

McArthur was then showered with messages of support from his Newcastle United teammates, including first-team star Lewis Miley.

The midfielder commented: “All the best bro.”

Newcastle reunion at Carlisle United

McArthur will meet some familiar faces at Carlisle United.

Carlisle recently announced a deal to sign Paul Dummett, who left Newcastle United at the end of last season.

The defender had a short spell with Wigan Athletic, but has now dropped down to League Two to play for the Cumbrians.

They will be managed by a former Toon defender, with Mike Williamson in charge at Brunton Park.

McArthur joins Carlisle United at a difficult time, with Williamson’s side currently bottom of League Two after 24 games. They are currently seven points adrift of safety.
