David Moyes gets his wish as Everton receive green light to sign £40m star this month

Everton’s January transfer window is turning into a real struggle as the clock ticks down on the deadline.

David Moyes may just be starting to get a little concerned by the lack of movement being made in the market.

There is just over one week for Everton to make some signings as the Friedkins still await their first piece of business since taking over the club.

Everton are set to miss out on Ernest Nuamah with the 21-year-old winger set to remain at Lyon, at least until the end of the season.

However, there may just have been some more positive news for Everton fans.

It appears there is work being done behind-the-scenes to secure Moyes one of the signings which he has been keen to land.

Everton offered chance to sign Chelsea’s Carney Chukwuemeka

Already this month, Everton have shown interest in signing Carney Chukwuemeka from Chelsea.

However, there has been one real sticking factor due to their loan quota already being filled.

According to The Mirror, Chelsea have now offered Everton the opportunity to exchange Armando Broja for Chukwuemeka.

Talks have been ongoing between Chelsea and Everton over Broja after the striker suffered a potentially season-ending injury whilst on loan with the Toffees.

But it is not just Chukwuemeka who Everton have been offered the chance to sign with Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall also on the trading pule.

Chukwuemeka is a player who David Moyes is really keen to sign this month and it looks like he may just get his wish.

Everton still need to add another striker

Having previously priced Chukwuemeka at the £40m mark, Everton could be getting themselves a real gem of a talent.

However, there are still issues up front which need addressing.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin really impressed against Tottenham Hotspur on the weekend but his form this season has been really poor.

And that is not the only issue which Everton have up front.

Broja is injured, Youssef Chermiti is injured again and Beto has received strong interest from Torino.

Everton simply need to add another striker before the deadline in just over one week’s time.
