Wrexham have offered contracts to Craig Dawson and Aaron Cresswell and it appears they are stepping up their quest to add more quality to their squad this summer.
TBR Football’s Chief Football Correspondent, Graeme Bailey has told Wrexham Insider that the Red Dragons are interested in bringing in Blackburn captain Travis, who is valued around the £3m mark.
The Lancashire Telegraph described Travis as having a ‘phenomenal’ season for Blackburn before a hamstring injury disrupted the end of his campaign.
Wrexham will be encouraged that he only has one year remaining on his contract, although they could face competition from Sheffield United and Ipswich Town – a club Travis has already had success with on loan.
Lewis Travis’s Championship record
Fans will want to know what Travis would bring to Wrexham’s midfield after the likes of Matty James and Ollie Rathbone performed superbly in the promotion campaign.
Travis is an industrious midfielder and can read the game well in the middle of the park, often breaking up play and using the ball sensibly.
The 27-year-old would certainly bring fresh legs and enthusiasm to Parkinson’s options and has a wealth of experience playing in the second tier.
Should Travis complete a move to North Wales, it would surely spell the end for George Evans, who is already way down the pecking order at the club
