Erik ten Hag was reportedly left fuming as the Glazers refusal to name their preferred bidder to buy Manchester United is hampering his transfer plans.

Sheikh Jassim and Sir Jim Ratcliffe have been patiently waiting to hear which of them will be selected by the Glazer family as the new owner of the club.

The Americans could yet decide to remain at the Old Trafford helm, with that eventuality feeling more and more likely as the process continues to rumble on.

It’s thought Sheikh Jassim has offered around £6bn for full control of the club, whole Ratcliffe has offered the Glazers a minority stake with a view to selling those shares further down the line.

There’s been much speculation as to who will be named the preferred bidder with the latest reports suggesting Sheikh Jassim is ‘very confident’ of securing the club, with the Qatari ‘edging closer’ to getting the deal over the line.

But even once he’s named by the Glazers there will still be a number of hoops to jump through, including the Owners’ and Directors’ Test, which although not fit for purpose, would likely take up to ten days to complete

And according to The Sun, Ten Hag is thoroughly f***ed off by it all; he’s ‘angry’ by the part the uncertainty is playing in his transfer plans.

It’s claimed ‘The Red Devils boss feels West Ham skipper Declan Rice would be a perfect addition and has been desperate to make an offer, but failed’

But his ‘spending has been restricted’ while the Glazers come to a decision and he’s been forced to watch while Arsenal seal a deal for the England international.

The Gunners’ opening bid of £90m plus add-ons for Rice was rejected by West Ham last month, and they were not interested in going into a bidding war with Arsenal and Manchester City
