Arsenal are set to unveil a specially commissioned bronze statue of their former manager Arsene Wenger at Emirates Stadium to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their Invincible season.
The statue has now been spotted on its way to the premises of the North London club.
A fan account (Link Up Arsenal) has posted the picture of the masterpiece being transported to the Emirates Stadium after a Reddit user uploaded it on the popular forum this morning.
Arsenal were crowned Premier League champions in the 2003-04 season for the fourth time under the new format of the competition and the 13th time in history, ending the season without a single defeat and becoming the first club ever to do so in a 38-game league season.
No club have managed to do so in the English top-flight since then, and the Gunners are still in search of their next league title, narrowly missing out on it last term.
Wenger spent 22 years managing Arsenal, ending his time at the club with three Premier League titles, seven FA Cups and seven FA Community Shields.
He deserves to be rewarded with a statue, with the piece set to be first showcased through a digital unveiling, allowing fans from around the world to witness the event.
The statue will serve as a lasting tribute and reminder of the Frenchman’s contributions to the history of Arsenal.
Dennis Bergkamp, Tony Adams, Thierry Henry, and Herbert Chapman all have statues outside of the Emirates, and Wenger’s is next to line up beside theirs.
