In the summer transfer window, Ipswich Town loaned Arijanet Muric to Sassuolo.
Since arriving in Italy, the goalkeeper has become a key player, racking up ten times in Serie A and keeping four clean-sheets.
Sassuolo find themselves eighth in the league and Muric’s performances have been important.
The Kosovan has now spoken to the FFK podcast, and was asked about his future. In response, he indicated a desire to leave Ipswich Town on a permanent basis.
Muric said, as reported by SassuoloNews: “I enjoyed moving around and changing a lot, but now I’m 27 and I hope to find a permanent club for a few years.”
The stopper also spoke about his life in Italy so far and made it clear he’s enjoying it.
“I’ve lived in many countries, but I have to say Italy isn’t bad. I’m enjoying this good moment with Sassuolo, where things aren’t going badly.
“I’m new here, but I love Italy. My favourite place, though, is Girona in Spain. Adana in Turkey wasn’t bad because it was a different culture.”
Speaking more about his future plans, the ex-Manchester City player said: “I knew what it took to be there and to get there and discover my potential, and as a young person, I mean, I didn’t do that.
“I don’t want to live with regret, and I’ll do my best to get there. I don’t want to look back and regret not making it for silly reasons. I’m much more mature now.”
Muric has now played in Italy, England, Spain, Turkey, Netherlands and Switzerland, giving him a good grounding for whatever comes next.
Sassuolo have the option to sign Muric permanently for €10m. Kieran McKenna’s side signed the player for €9.5m in 2024. A sale will go down as a capital profit for the Championship side and the Tractor Boys will be hoping Muric continues doing well.
