Declan Rice has hailed Arsenal teammate Gabriel Martinelli after witnessing just how sharp he is in training at London Colney.
Gabriel Martinelli has been praised as one of the sharpest Arsenal players in Mikel Arteta’s training sessions with Declan Rice blown away.
Rice had been linked with Arsenal for months and months before finally securing his move to North London in mid-July.
The midfielder has now settled in at Arsenal and is already playing a key role having started against Manchester City in the Community Shield and the Premier League opener against Nottingham Forest.
Big things are expected of Rice given that Arsenal forked out a huge £105million deal; he needs to perform immediately.
The early signs are positive from Rice and he has now moved to praise one of his Gunners teammates just a month into his Arsenal career.

Rice has been speaking to Rio Ferdinand in a video for TNT Sports with the ex-England defender visiting Arsenal’s London Colney training ground.
Ferdinand covered a number of topics but had to ask whether there is anyone who has really surprised Rice during his early weeks at Arsenal.
Rice has played against most of the Arsenal players before but it’s a different matter when you’re seeing them up close and personal in training day after day.
Rice had an answer immediately come into his mind – Gabriel Martinelli.
The former West Ham star noted that he has never seen anybody as sharp in training as when he witnessed Martinelli train over in the United States.
Ferdinand was stunned at the idea of Martinelli being sharper than teammate Bukayo Saka.
However, Rice was adamant that Martinelli is faster than Saka and just ’so sharp’, noting that they are simply ‘frightening’ on the flanks as a dynamic duo for Arsenal.
“The one who, when we was away in America, he was… I’ve never seen someone so sharp in training, is Martinelli,” said Rice. “He’s so sharp, honestly. Saka is sharp but Martinelli, he’s faster. Them two on the wings is frightening,” he added.
