‘HE TAKES FIVE CHANCES TO SCORE’: ALAN BRAZIL SLAMS ARSENAL PLAYER, SAYS HE’S ‘NOT GOOD ENOUGH’

Alan Brazil has criticised Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah for needing too many chances to score a goal.

Eddie Nketiah started in Arsenal‘s 1-0 win against Crystal Palace on Monday but was unable to get his name on the scoresheet.

Speaking about the 24-year-old on talkSPORT, Brazil said: “He takes five chances to score. It’s not good enough, whereas [Erling] Haaland, half a chance, boom! And that could be the difference again.”

While Nketiah was unable to register at Selhurst Park, he did manage to net in Arsenal’s 2-1 win versus Nottingham Forest.

The former England U21 international has been playing in the absence of Gabriel Jesus, who is currently out injured.

Eddie Nketiah is good enough

If Arsenal want to win the Premier League title, then they may need a bit more than Nketiah, especially when you consider the fact that the Gunners are going up against Manchester City and Haaland.

The Norwegian was in ridiculous form last season, scoring 36 goals in 35 top-flight outings. Even as a regular starter, it is hard to imagine Nketiah coming anywhere close to that number.

Nevertheless, he has done enough in a red shirt to show that he can be an asset to Mikel Arteta.

Nketiah did not do too bad when he came in for Jesus in the previous campaign, where the Brazilian also struggled with an injury problem.

For example, the Arsenal academy graduate netted twice in a 3-2 win against Manchester United.

If Nketiah got a full 38-game season in a top side like Arsenal, he could probably hit double figures easily.

It may not be something that ever happens at the Emirates with Jesus around, but Nketiah still seems happy there as a squad player, a squad player who is capable of doing a job when asked to by his manager.
