Report: Arsenal have now been handed a major injury boost ahead of Everton clash

Arsenal are expecting Gabriel Magalhaes to be available for their trip to Everton.

As per football.London, the defender has recovered from an injury scare that he suffered whilst on international duty with Brazil.

Arsenal are set to travel to Goodison Park for their Premier League meeting with the Toffees this weekend and will already be without both Thomas Partey and Jurrien Timber to injury.

With the former featuring heavily from defence so far this season, the Gunners’ backline looked to be taking a number of hits after Gabriel picked up a knock with the national team.

The centre-back started for Brazil against Bolivia at the weekend but he was brought off late on and was spotted on the bench with an ice park, sparking worry amongst Arsenal fans.

While there was originally concern that he wouldn’t feature against Everton, Gabriel was spotted in training two days later. He has since played the full 90 minutes as Brazil beat Peru in the early hours.

Can Everton challenge Gabriel and Arsenal’s defence?

While a major boost for Arsenal who would have struggled without three first team players, Everton will now face a much tougher defence with Gabriel in the middle.

Arsenal fans had been eager to see the 25-year-old brought back into the line-up after he spent their opening fixtures on the bench and the Gunners looked much stronger defensively as he started in their 3-1 win over Manchester United.

Meanwhile, the Toffees will hope that new boy Beto can prove a handful for the Brazilian and his teammates.

The former Udinese striker put on a promising performance against Sheffield United and has now had a two week break to form friendships with the squad and get used to his new surroundings.

It is unclear whether Dominic Calvert-Lewin will be back in the fold this weekend, though Beto would be very unlucky to find himself on the bench against Arsenal. 

Arnaut Danjuma will also be keen to continue his form against his former rivals, having scored in his last two games for Everton.
