Former Oxford United striker Matty Taylor has returned to the club in a coaching capacity.
Taylor, who was born in Kidlington, has taken up a role in the academy at Oxford United.
He netted 64 goals across all competitions for his hometown side during two spells with the club. Only eight players have scored more for United than Taylor.

Taylor was released in 2023 after 41 goals in 112 games during his second stint at the U’s between 2020 and 2023. His first spell was from 2007 to 2009 before he went on to play for Abingdon United on loan and Didcot Town during the early stages of his career.
Oxford United announced Taylor was returning to the club to coach the academy on Monday morning.
It is expected that he will be mainly working with the forwards in the academy to pass on his advice.
He told the club’s YouTube channel: “I have been in their shoes, I’ve had some really positive experiences not only here but elsewhere and I have also had negative experiences which I think, for me to pass on that knowledge and lived experience, is really important for them.
“Obviously [I will be] mainly working with the forwards and strikers but they can still relate all over the pitch to my experiences and if I can help them a little bit in their journey it is worth its weight in gold from my point of view.”
Taylor finished his player career at Salisbury after playing for Port Vale on loan then Forest Green Rovers and Cheltenham Town following his exit from the Kassam Stadium.
