Leeds United have taken an interest in West Ham United midfielder Tomas Soucek, according to reports – with Daniel Farke keen to add extensive Premier League experience to his squad should the Whites earn promotion over the next two weeks.
A recent Sheffield United crumble has seen them go five points clear of the Championship play-offs with just four games to go, in what appears to be a straight title shoot-out between themselves and Burnley – and with the Clarets facing Sheffield United, it means more dropped points for either side, which plays into Leeds’ hands. With that in mind, preparations are already being made for an imminent top-flight return and Soucek is one player who has found his way onto their list.

The Czech star has been a key player for West Ham for quite some time
The report by Claret and Hugh states that Leeds are keen to land Hammers loanee Evan Ferguson next season should they be promoted to the Premier League, given that the Ireland youngster has been made ‘surplus to requirements’ at the London Stadium despite only joining in January.
But he may not be the only current Hammers star in Daniel Farke’s sights, with the publication speaking to a transfer insider over Soucek’s potential move to Elland Road. The insider said:
“The manager [Potter] has already decided he doesn’t want him next season. Ferguson is good in the build-up play, but he’s third choice at West Ham.
“Leeds are planning for next season — Daniel Farke has already started preparations for the summer window. He likes Souček, but there’s already a Premier League offer in for him. I think Leeds like Ferguson too, and he’d get games there.”
Soucek has been one of West Ham’s most important players for quite some time, having joined the club in January 2020 – making 188 Premier League appearances for the club, scoring 34 league goals in the process, which has seen him dubbed as a ‘legend’ by The Athletic.
Alongside hoisting the Europa Conference League trophy, the 30-year-old was a constant in David Moyes’ side, only missing six games from the start of the 2020-21 season until the start of the current campaign – and that level of Premier League experience could be vital in securing survival for the Yorkshire club
Leeds will need to invest heavily to buck the trend of all three promoted sides being relegated straight back to the Championship, which looks to be the case for the second year running – and Soucek would be an immense addition to their side in terms of goals, grit and quality.
