‘I THINK THEY WILL’: CESC FABREGAS PREDICTS WINNER OF ARSENAL V MANCHESTER CITY

Cesc Fabregas has backed Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal to beat Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City in the Premier League today.

The big talking point is whether Bukayo Saka is going to be fit to play against Manchester City given his importance to Arsenal.

The good news is that it’s touch and go, with the 22-year-old in a far better place than where he was when Arsenal were beaten by RC Lens in the Champions League in midweek.

Either way, that was a topic touched upon by Cesc Fabregas ahead of the mouthwatering Premier League title showdown at the Emirates, as he told PL Productions (08/10/23 at 1:10 pm).

The Gunners have lost their last 12 Premier League meetings against the current champions, with Arsene Wenger being in the dugout the last time they overcame the Etihad-based club.

But Cesc Fabregas thinks all of that is now going to come to an end, as he sent the following message ahead of the game.

Fabregas backs Arsenal to beat Man City

“It is a big possibility,” said Fabregas. “I think they will. It all depends also on the personnel. If they can recover a few injured players. Is Saka available? Is he not?

“Definitely I see a strong team, with clear ideas of what they want to play and how they want to do it. Good signings as well. I believe this could be the day, yes.”

Statement win up for grabs

This would be a statement win from Arteta’s side if they can overcome the Treble winners here given their previous record against them.

It needs to be remembered that Arsenal overcame Man City in the Community Shield before the start of the season.

So, they will want to use that to prove their worth on the Premier League stage now and send out a statement of intent to all.
