Oxford United Women have confirmed that Women’s First Team Manager Sam Rose has left his role by mutual consent.

Rose joined the club in November 2023 as the first full-time manager of the women’s team and quickly became a key figure in the programme’s development.

During his first full season in charge, he guided Oxford United Women to a fifth-place finish with 44 points in the FA Women’s National League Southern Premier Division, while helping establish the club’s transition toward a hybrid professional model.

His tenure also included strong periods of form, highlighted by an unbeaten February run of three wins and one draw, which earned him the FAWNL Manager of the Month award in 2025.

Off the pitch, Rose played an important role in strengthening the squad structure, improving pathways for young players, and embedding a more professional environment within the women’s programme.

Oxford United thanked Rose for his commitment, professionalism, and the positive culture he helped build during his time at the club.

In the short term, the club confirmed that the current backroom staff will take charge of the Women’s First Team on an interim basis, beginning with preparations for their upcoming fixture away to AFC Bournemouth Women.

The search for a new permanent Women’s First Team Manager will begin in due course as the club looks to build on the progress made in recent seasons.

Further updates will be shared with supporters once the recruitment process develops.
