MIKEL ARTETA CONFIRMS HIS STAR PLAYER IS PART OF ARSENAL SQUAD TO FACE SEVILLA

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has confirmed the return of Aaron Ramsdale ahead of the club’s Champions League group stage clash against Sevilla.

The Gunners continued their unbeaten start to the Premier League campaign last weekend with a 2-2 draw at Chelsea. They looked destined to lose but secured a point with a late comeback.

The club will be looking to return to winning ways in Seville tomorrow and ahead of the game, Arteta has confirmed the availability of Ramsdale after his absence at Stamford Bridge.

The 25-year-old missed the trip to west London due to the birth of his first child, but he will be in the matchday squad to face Sevilla at the Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan.

ARTETA HAS A DECISION TO MAKE OVER GOALKEEPING ROLE

Ramsdale has been playing second fiddle to David Raya in goal since late September. He has started just one game in the Carabao Cup third round where they beat Brentford.

In our view, the €32 million-rated star should now be knocking on the manager’s door for a starting role on the back of Raya’s unconvincing displays over the past two games.

Raya was nervous in the early exchanges against Manchester City and was very fortunate to not concede on two occasions. Declan Rice saved his blushes with a goal-line clearance.

Against Chelsea, his poor judgement of the flight of the ball contributed to Mykhailo Mudryk’s goal. He also gifted possession to Chelsea at 2-0, but managed to redeem himself with a save.

Ramsdale was dropped from the starting line-up, having done nothing wrong this season. It remains to be seen whether he is reinstated into the XI against Sevilla tomorrow.
