“Super, talent and more”- The three players Wolves could sign from relegated Premier League clubs including ‘super’ talent
Wolves have booked their place in the 2025/26 Premier League campaign after a run of incredible form has seen Vitor Pereira’s men march up the table.
Pereira made Premier League history for Wolves on Sunday, becoming the first manager at Molineux to win five games in a row in the competition.
Jamie Carragher praised Pereira live on Sky Sports, with the Portuguese receiving recognition from those outside the club for the job he’s done.
When he arrived at Molineux, Wolves were four points adrift of safety, and now they’re 17 points clear with five matches remaining.
The Wolves manager can now focus on the summer transfer window. So, with that said, here are three players Pereira could sign from the three relegated clubs.
Kyle Walker-Peters
Pereira could be looking to sign a new wing-back this summer. Nelson Semedo is likely to leave Wolves with his contract expiring, and the 31-year-old will need replacing.
Luckily, there are several opportunities in the market, including a potential move for Kyle Walker-Peters, who sees his contract expire in June.
Walker-Peters has been dubbed as ‘super’ for Southampton, and in a dismal campaign for the Saints, he’s been a shining light.
The 28-year-old has been a source of energy down the right flank, assisting twice in 31 matches and has proven his quality in the Premier League.
Taylor Harwood-Bellis
Although two defenders were signed in January, Pereira is looking for another centre-back, and Southampton’s Taylor Harwood-Bellis could be an option.
The Manchester City academy graduate ticks the boxes of what the Portuguese boss looks for in a defender as he’s dominant in the air, comfortable with the ball at his feet and can read the game.
Southampton may have the worst defence in the division, but Harwood-Bellis has still been a cut above his teammates, averaging an 89% pass completion and 3.8 balls recovered per game.
The Englishman will also be looking for a route back into the Premier League and Wolves could offer him that passage.
Boubakary Soumare
Wolves’ midfield duo of Andre and Joao Gomes is unbreakable. But, Pereira could do with improvements in reserve, especially with Tommy Doyle likely to depart.
So, the Wanderers should look no further than Leicester City’s Boubakary Soumare, whose relentless energy, pressing and strength would be perfect for Pereira’s system.
Soumare is a box-to-box midfielder who was compared to Paul Pogba at Lille. Meanwhile, during his time under Ruud van Nistelrooy at Leicester, the Frenchman’s performances have warranted more than his sides results.
With the Foxes suffering relegation to the Championship, they could be powerless to hold onto their midfield machine and Wolves should pounce as he’d be a brilliant backup option.
