Man Utd says £20m player has now completely changed everything for Arsenal

Man Utd Legend Paul Scholes has said that Jakub Kiwior’s latest appearance for Arsenal has been key to the north London side’s transformation in the Premier League.

The Polish international replaced Oleksandr Zinechenko at half-time in Arsenal’s 3-1 win over Liverpool earlier this month, and Kiwior has since played every minute for the Gunners at left-back.

The change has resulted in Arsenal conceding just one goal in the Premier League and Mikel Arteta’s side have scored 15 goals in their last three games, with Kiwior scoring one last night against Newcastle United.
And on ESPN FC, expert Burley has pointed out that Kiwior’s performance and role in this Arsenal system has been crucial to the Gunners’ Premier League form, with the north London team firmly in the Premier League title race.

Burley said: “Kiwior comes in for Zinchenko, it’s kind of a stop to, ‘Oh, let’s go and kind of flap around in the middle with that extra [player]’, he’s more of a natural wing-back.

The £20m acquisition from Spezia last year has certainly grown into his own left-back position, an incredible feat considering the options Arsenal now have for the role.
Zinchenko, Takehiro Tomiyasu and the returning Jurrien Timber all have claims to start at left-back, but it is Kiwior who looks best suited to the role for Arsenal.
The former Serie A star actually has the quality to keep his place in the starting line-up for the rest of the season, and the fear of being dropped may spur Kiwior to improve his form even more for Arsenal.

“So all of a sudden they’ve got White on one side, Kiwior on the other and they’ve got four guys, who will certainly go forward but guess what? They want to defend as well. And that has given them some stability at the back.”

After scoring an own goal against Liverpool in the FA Cup, few Arsenal fans could have predicted that Kiwior would be one of the key reasons behind the Gunners’ bid for the Premier League title.
