Gabriel Jesus’ injury concerns are among the factors behind Arsenal’s move to sign a new central striker this summer, with Ivan Toney, Victor Osimhen, Joshua Zirkzee & Viktor Gyökeres among those the club have looked at- Mikel Arteta decides….

The Gunners’ forward has not played since 30 January due to knee problems, although he was an unused substitute in the win over Newcastle on Saturday.
Although Jesus hopes to return to action soon, Mail Sport understands that Arsenal’s doctors are taking a cautious approach to his workload to prevent his knee problem from worsening.

Jesus has had problems with fluid in his knee, which requires attention during matches.

The Brazilian has had knee problems since he joined Arsenal before last season, and those injury problems are one of the factors that led the club to sign a new central striker in the summer, with the Gunners looking at Ivan Toney, Victor Osimhen, Joshua Zirkzee and Victor Gyokeres.

Arsenal will also look to sign a new central midfielder, with Martin Zubimendi among the club’s targets.

They will also consider a winger to complement Bukaya Sak and Gabriel Martinelli.

Meanwhile, Arsenal hope to have Takehiro Tomiyasu and Oleksandr Zinchenko available for Monday’s away game at Sheffield United after recovering from injuries, while Thomas Partey is nearing a full return from groin surgery, having already returned to training.
