‘Will make a difference’: Pundit says £35m Arsenal player will be crucial in the second-leg vs Porto

Arsenal weren’t at it against Porto in midweek.

It may sound harsh, but we have to say that the Gunners just didn’t turn up in the Champions League on Wednesday night.

The north London club were entirely stifled in the attack, and a late goal from Galeno condemned them toa shock defeat.

Luckily though, the Gunners do have the second-leg on the horizon to put things right, but they will have to improve significantly if they are to improve in the next game.

Speaking on the Handbrake Off Podcast, Steven Gerrard has been discussing how Arsenal can get back on track in Europe, and he says that the return of Oleksandr Zinchenko in the next game could make a big difference.

Oleksandr Zinchenko could make the difference
Steven G spoke about the £35M man’s return.

“I think they will come up with a way, keep that tempo high, make it a flowing game. I think Zini will make a difference, if he’s fit and available, Partey maybe, they shut off the middle of the pitch, and we have to be better in that regard in this game,” Gerrad said.

So important

Zinchenko may not be one of Arsenal’s biggest name players, but he is so important to the way the Gunners want to play.

His ability to invert from full-back make him so important as Arsenal look to overload the middle of the park, and that’s where they struggled to get any joy against Porto in the first game.

Fingers crossed Zinchenko will be back for the second-leg, because if he does return, he should be able to make a real difference to this team, and hopefully, the result.
