Mikel Arteta decides to give an “underrated” player one last chance to save his Arsenal career
Arsenal star Thomas Partey could save his career with the Gunners in the next few months.

The Ghanaian footballer has had terrible injury problems. He has hardly played this season, but Partey is expected to return to the team when Arsenal take on Sheffield United on Monday. He will have to prove then what it is that needs to be done.
Thomas Partey will get one last chance to save his Arsenal career

Arsenal have signed Thomas Partey from Atletico Madrid in 2020.

The Ghana international was seen by many as the man to finally replace Patrick Vieira at Arsenal, but things didn’t quite work out.

Don’t get us wrong, Partey was incredible for Arsenal when he played. There aren’t many better central outfield players in the world when he’s at full fitness, but injuries have hit him hard.

Partey only played four times in the Premier League all season. He has also had injury problems recently, but is now back to full training and ready to play.

Football Transfers now claims that Arsenal are ready to give Partey one last chance to prove himself.
If he stays fit and performs at the highest level between now and the end of the season, the Gunners are said to be ready to discuss a new contract.

But if he gets injured again, his Arsenal career will be almost over.

A new Arsenal contract for Thomas Partey would be risky

When Thomas Partey is healthy and playing for Arsenal, the Gunners are a much more solid team than without him.

The Ghanaian, who Oleksandr Zinchenko (FIVE) described as “underrated”, is one of the best central midfielders in Europe and he proved it for much of last season.

Unfortunately, this campaign has been a disappointment for Partey. He has missed most of the season and even if he shows great results in the coming months, we think he should be transferred.

Partey will turn 31 in the summer and it is unlikely that he will remain injury free as most of his problems have been muscle related.

In addition, he receives a huge salary, so it would be a very risky move, in our opinion, to give him a new contract beyond the expiry of his current contract in 2025.
