Edu sent Arsenal scouts to watch the 24-year-old today as he is a “nightmare” to be with
Arsenal scouts will see Fenerbahçe defender Ferdi Kadioglu in action against Hatayspor in Turkey today.
The 24-year-old defender has been the subject of interest from the Gunners for over a month. Arsenal were reported to be interested in signing him last month and it seems that their interest has not gone away.
Arsenal to send scouts to watch Ferdi Kadioglu
Arsenal will have a busy transfer window this summer, regardless of how this season ends.
Mikel Arteta will almost certainly sign a new striker and midfielder, and a winger is also expected to be on the agenda.
If everyone is healthy, Arsenal don’t need a new defender, but the Turkish Star revealed this week that Ferdi Kadioglu is on the Gunners’ radar.
The 24-year-old has excelled at Fenerbahçe over the past year. He is developing excellently and it is only a matter of time before he joins a bigger club.
The report claims that Arsenal and Napoli are interested in Kadioglu. Ed Gaspar’s scouts will arrive at the Mersin Arena later today to take a closer look at the Turk as he takes on Hatayspor.
Kadioglu is described as a “nightmare” by Analytics FC and will complete the final two years of his contract this summer.
Arsenal don’t need Kadioglu
Ferdi Kadioglu is one of the best defenders in Turkey and we are confident that he has a solid career ahead of him. However, we can’t see Arsenal buying him.
The Turk’s biggest asset is his versatility. He can play in both full-back positions and also in midfield, a trait that is very attractive to coaches.
But so can Arsenal full-backs Jurrien Timber and Takehiro Tomiyasu.
Ben White and Oleksandr Zinchenko can play as full-backs and also in midfield, while Jakub Kiwior can play in central midfield in addition to left-back and defensive midfielder.
Although Kadioglu is a good player, we don’t think Arsenal need him this summer.
