“I’ll say he’s better than Erland Haaland despite the plenty of goals Haaland scores, I like to be honest but this Arsenal guy is better”- Eden Hazard says Arsenal star is clear of Erling Haaland- Not Saka, Not Jesus and not Trossard

Former Chelsea forward Eden Hazard has made a bold claim asserting that Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard is a better player than Norway’s widely celebrated star, Erling Haaland.

In a recent interview with TalkSPORT,  when asked to identify the top players from various countries ahead of Euro 2024, Hazard’s choice for Norway’s best player sparked significant interest.

Hazard, a former Premier League standout, acknowledged many of the usual suspects but made a surprising call regarding Norway. According to him, Martin Odegaard stands out as Norway’s premier talent, surpassing even the prolific Erling Haaland.

Hazard elaborated on his choice, emphasizing his personal experience with Odegaard. “Who is the best player from Norway?” Hazard was asked. “Odegaard,” he responded. When the host questioned, “Odegaard? Not Haaland?” Hazard reaffirmed, “No, I’ll say Odegaard because I’ve played with him.

While both Haaland and Odegaard are among the Premier League’s finest, comparing them is akin to comparing apples and oranges. Haaland, known for his physical prowess, dominates with his strength, speed, and height. In contrast, Odegaard excels through his exceptional technical skills and vision on the field, making him one of the most intelligent players in the game today

Both players are indispensable to their respective clubs. Arsenal treasures Odegaard, their £30 million playmaker, while Manchester City would be hard-pressed to part with Haaland. Despite Norway’s failure to qualify for Euro 2024, the presence of these two stars promises a bright future for the national team.

A reporter recently asked Haaland if Manchester City would have been a better team with Odegaard on the roster. The Manchester City hitman admitted they would have been, but noted it’s not likely that would happen. “Yes, I think so,” said Haaland as per Football London. “There’s a good player, and a player that plays for our rivals. He’s just signed a new contract, so it’s not a topic, but at City we have a lot of best players in the world.”

Norway’s dynamic duo is undoubtedly among the best in the world, each bringing unique qualities that elevate their teams.
