Arsenal are ready to make bid to sign £70m Premier League striker in the final days of the transfer window

Arsenal have not given up on signing a new striker before the transfer window shuts.

The Gunners have had a decent summer so far. They have turned David Raya’s loan into a permanent deal and brought in Riccardo Calafiori from Bologna as well. Mikel Merino is on the verge of signing for Arsenal too.

That is a solid window on its own, but many people like Alan Shearer believe Arsenal have to sign a new striker if they want to win the Premier League title ahead of Manchester City.

Now, Football Transfers claim that Mikel Arteta and Edu Gaspar are ready to bid for a Premier League forward in the final days of the window.

Arsenal are ready to make an offer to sign Evan Ferguson from Brighton
Evan Ferguson is one of the most talented young strikers in the Premier League.

The 19-year-old has impressed everyone with his performances for Brighton. He has scored 16 goals for them in 33 starts, which is a very good return for a player of his age.

Now, Football Transfers have revealed a transfer update involving Ferguson.

The report claims that Arsenal and Manchester City are both eyeing a move to sign the young striker and are ready to make a bid before the window shuts.

It has been revealed that Brighton are demanding £70 million for Ferguson, but both Pep Guardiola and Arteta ‘would prefer a loan deal at this juncture and then settle on a price next summer’.

Ferguson’s injury record is a concern, but the report claims that Arsenal and Manchester City both feel he is ‘worth the gamble’ after watching his performances with Brighton.

The 19-year-old’s current contract at the AmEx does not expire until the summer of 2019. That puts the Seagulls in a really strong position.

Would Ferguson be a good fit for Arsenal?
Arsenal could definitely do with a new striker this summer.

The Gunners have Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus up top with Leandro Trossard also an option as a false nine. Eddie Nketiah is expected to leave the club.

Arsenal tried to sign Benjamin Sesko and failed earlier in the summer, but if they can land Ferguson in the final days of the window, it would be a huge coup.

The teenager is a clinical goalscorer. He can run in behind and play with his back to goal, while his ability in the air is very good too. He has the potential to become one of the best strikers in the country in the coming seasons.

We think Ferguson will be a fine signing for Arsenal, not just for the present but for the future as well.
