Defender wanted by Nottingham Forest and Newcastle now suggests he doesn’t want summer transfer

Nottingham Forest have been linked with a host of players already ahead of next season, and things will ramp up in the coming weeks.

The Reds are now out of the FA Cup after Sunday’s defeat in the semi-final at Wembley, with Manchester City running out 2-0 victors at the national stadium.

Forest need to ensure they dust themselves off quickly from this one with a huge game to come on home soil against Brentford on Thursday night.

A Champions League berth is still firmly in the team’s grasp, and it’s imperative that Forest don’t waste this opportunity to qualify for the competition.

A number of players have been linked to Forest already and the rumour is starting to go into full flow as the season draws to a conclusion.

How Federico Gatti feels about Forest move

The defender is one of the names on the list at Forest ahead of the summer and it would seem as though he’s aware of the interest in his services.

Forest and Newcastle have been linked with the Italian performer and it remains to be seen if concrete offers are made for his services.

Gatti seems to be fully focused on doing well for Juventus, however, and isn’t even thinking about preparing to leave Juve just yet.

He told Juve FC: “This has been my best season personally. I’m in Turin and I am playing for the team of my city, it’s the best thing I could ask for.”

Gatti is a central defender and perhaps the Reds are eying a different option to Morato who can act as a backup to Murillo and Nikola Milenkovic.

Willy Boly will also depart in the summer once his contract is up, whilst Andrew Omobamidele could move on a permanent basis after a successful loan with Strasbourg.

Forest could play over 50 matches next season if European football is on the table and the hope will be that Nuno Espirito Santo has more quality in his squad.

The Reds will be looking at a number of players and perhaps Gatti is a defender who the club feels is a realistic option to sign this summer.
