REPORT: Bad news for Nuno Espirito Santo as Morgan Gibbs-White’s bestfriend could also leave Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest are already making plans for the summer transfer window.

A striker is clearly high up on their list of priorities as they’ve been linked with a handful over the last couple of weeks.

Nottingham Forest are eyeing Bournemouth striker Evanilson, who has netted 12 goals in his debut season in England.

Liverpool’s Darwin Nunez has also been linked to the City Ground, with the Reds demanding around £35m for his signature.

On the outgoing front, a number of Nottingham Forest’s key performers have been linked with a move away. Manchester City are stepping up their interest in Morgan Gibbs-White.

And now, there’s a fresh rumour which isn’t great news for Nuno Espirito Santo.

Napoli make Callum Hudson-Odoi top target

Callum Hudson-Odoi has proved to be a bargain since completing a £5m switch from Chelsea in 2023.

The 24-year-old has really come into his own this season, registering eight goal involvements in 29 league appearances.

That’s alerted Roma and Napoli to make checks on Hudson-Odoi, who only has one year remaining on his contract.

And now, according to Tuttomercatoweb, Napoli have made the Nottingham Forest winger their top target ahead of the summer transfer window.

The Serie A league leaders are showing a serious interest, having already had success shopping in the Premier League with Scott McTominay and Romelu Lukaku.

Nottingham Forest trio could get ripped apart

Speaking to BBC Nottingham Sport, Anthony Elanga spoke about the close friendship circle he has with Hudson-Odoi and Gibbs-White.

“I feel like we’ve got a great connection off the pitch as well. We’re always talking with each other, we just understand each other really well. It’s a great feeling to be able to play with those players.”

Elanga continued: “Callum’s loud, he won’t even mind me saying that and he’d probably say I’m loud. Morgan’s loud and chilled, he has probably got that balance.

“But they’re amazing lads, I couldn’t speak more highly of them. I love playing with them, I love being with them outside the pitch and they’re just amazing.”

With Gibbs-White heavily rumoured to join Man City, Hudson-Odoi and Elanga, who both have concrete interest, could decide to leave the City Ground, too.

The importance of qualifying for the Champions League is growing in importance with each passing week.
