Wolves have the chance to bring in some new faces when the transfer window opens for business
Wolves have the opportunity to freshen up their ranks this summer. They also have the chance to let some players head out the exit door should they wish to. That would have free up some space and funds to pave the way for new arrivals.
Vitor Pereira has done a great job since taking over from Gary O’Neil earlier this season. The Midlands outfit were in a relegation battle when he took over. He has since managed to pull them away from trouble with ease in the end and they can now look forward to the future under his stewardship.
Wolves interested in Sunderland defender Trai Hume
Wolves are interested in a move for Sunderland defender Trai Hume, according to Molineux News. They could try and lure the full-back up to the Premier League in the next window. The Black Cats’ chances of keeping hold of him are likely to depend on what league they are in.
The North East outfit are in the play-offs and will take on Coventry City over two legs as they battle it out for a place at Wembley. Sheffield United and Bristol City play each other in the other tie. As per Transfermarkt, Hume is valued at the £8.5million mark.
Hume, 23, would be a shrewd addition for Wolves. He would give them more competition and depth at the back and is still young. The Northern Ireland international has a lot of potential and is ready to make the step up from the Football League now.
Sunderland snapped him up back in 2022 from Linfield and he has since become a key player. He has made 128 appearances for them in all competitions to date, 45 of which have come in this campaign, and he has scored seven goals from defence. Regis Le Bris’ side will face a battle to retain his services over the coming months, especially if they don’t go up.
Wolves eye Liverpool winger Harvey Elliott
Wolves are prepared to make a £45million move for Liverpool winger Harvey Elliott, GiveMeSport claim. He has seen his game time dry up at Anfield and is being linked with an exit. The Reds snapped him up as a youngster back in 2019 from Fulham.
Now 22, Elliott could be ready to make the next step in his career. The England youth international would inject more quality into Pereira’s squad if they got him. He would also be one of the first names on the teamsheet which is what he wants right now.
Speaking on Sky Sports, pundit Tim Sherwood has recently said: “He will want to leave that football club, I know it’s a brilliant club if he can fight his way into the team, but if he’s not going to play on a regular basis. They’ve got players like that and you need players like that, who want to play and want to affect it. At the moment, a top-quality player like him is sitting there and he’s getting no game time. If you don’t play and listen, he would be happy picking up a trophy and a medal but in the end, he will want to contribute a lot more than what he’s done.”
