Nottingham Forest are now exploring every possibility to sign fantastic £29M winger amid ‘good chnace’ of summer transfer
Nottingham Forest are said to be eyeing up Deportivo La Coruna winger Yeremay Hernandez as they look ahead to an important summer.
Where the Reds finish in the Premier League table this season will have an effect on their transfer plans, with Nuno Espirito Santo’s side firmly in the mix to secure Champions League qualification. But regardless of what happens over the next few weeks, out wide is an area Forest will likely aim to strengthen ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.
Ramon Sosa and Jota Silva arrived 12 months ago to provide competition and cover as the club made signing wingers a priority. However, both have been linked with moves elsewhere after struggling for regular game time at the City Ground.
With a winger expected to be on the Reds’ shopping list, Hernandez has now been linked with a switch Trentside. Forest were said to be keen on him in January and have seemingly reignited their interest ahead of the summer window.
According to Spanish publication La Opinion A Coruna (via Sport Witness), the Reds are among a number of teams chasing the 22-year-old. Premier League rivals Bournemouth and Brentford are also said to be keeping tabs on the Spaniard, while he has admirers in Italy, Germany and France.
It is claimed there is a “good chance” Hernandez will be on the move when the window opens, although any potential suitors will need “great persuasion skills” to oversee a deal. The player, who spent time at Real Madrid during his youth career, is under contract until 2030 but has a €35 million (£29m) release clause included in his deal
In addition to facing interest in Jota and Sosa, Forest will also be aware Callum Hudson-Odoi is on the radar of a number of clubs. Roma, Napoli and AC Milan are among the sides said to be keen on the former Chelsea man.
The Reds’ need for more strength in depth out wide was highlighted on Monday night when Nuno’s men drew 1-1 away to Crystal Palace. With Hudson-Odoi ruled out due to a hamstring injury, Nicolas Dominguez was called upon to play on the right. Sosa made a cameo appearance but did little to stake his claim for a starting spot, while Jota remained on the bench.
Brazilian outfit Palmeiras are said to be keen on Sosa. Forest reportedly turned down a bid from them in January because the Paraguayan made it clear he did not wish to leave.
