Matheus Cunha’s blunt 12 words message to Wolves fans after enduring tough outing Vs Brighton
Wolves lost to Brighton on Saturday, and it is now back-to-back defeats for Vitor Pereira’s side.
Wolves continued their poor recent form against the Seagulls, and it is now just one win in their last nine meetings with them.
The result saw Wolves drop a place down to 14th in the Premier League table, with Everton beating Fulham.
Potentially, Wanderers could go as low as 16th, with Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur both in action today.
It was a frustrating day at the office for Wolves, who had more of the ball than Brighton and 10 shots in total. But the cutting edge wasn’t quite there.
And it was an afternoon to forget for Matheus Cunha, who conceded the penalty that led to Wolves being 1-0 down.

After VAR had ruled out a goal by Danny Welbeck for offside, the former Manchester United striker did then break the deadlock from the penalty spot.
He got the chance, after Cunha had picked the ball up on the edge of his own box. Why he was quite that deep is still a bit of a mystery.
The Brazilian had his pocket picked and tried to atone, but brought Mats Wieffer down in the area.
The referee had no choice but to give a spot-kick, and Cunha was also booked.
Cunha – who Pereira reckons cannot play as a striker – was then determined to make up for his error, but could not find a way to get Wolves back into the game.
Yesterday evening, Cunha took to Instagram to react to the defeat, writing: “Tough day today. Focus on the next one. Thanks for the support 🫶🐺”

The opening goal Brighton scored was a really poor one to concede from a Wolves perspective.
Cunha did check his shoulder when he received the ball from Emmanuel Agbadou. But he did not anticipate such a quick press from Wieffer.
He was then in a world of trouble, with Wieffer about to shoot. He had no real choice other than to bring him down.
Luckily for Wolves there is not a great deal at stake now, with safety confirmed. But this will still have been very frustrating for Pereira, who wants Wolves to finish the season strongly.
Wanderers were then put on the back foot as a result of Cunha’s lack of urgency, and it’ll be interesting to see if the Wolves manager punishes him by dropping him to the bench for the next game with Crystal Palace.
