Phil Parkinson has sent a clear message to Wrexham fans regarding potential transfers at the club this summer.
The Red Dragons are expected to have a busy summer transfer window, with plenty of names already linked.
Wrexham are leading the race for Sunusi Ibrahim, who is currently plying his trade in North America.
Harry Darling will make a contract decision very soon amid interest from the Red Dragons.
Meanwhile, as confirmed by the manager himself this week, Phil Parkinson is exploring loan moves for Wrexham.
However, new comments from the boss suggest that any potential incomings won’t be arriving just yet.
Phil Parkinson calls for patience over Wrexham transfers
The 2025 summer transfer window opens up on Sunday, June 1, before closing briefly and then reopening on June 16 until September 1.
With Wrexham told to sign six to nine players and Parkinson already saying talks with players have taken place, fans may be expecting some new names to arrive very soon.
However, as per Leader Live, the manager has now hinted, as has been the case in recent transfer windows, that signings will not arrive until later in the window.
He said: “It is an exciting summer. I know the fans will be eagerly anticipating some signings and things like that but as we know in the past, we have always tried to be patient and bring in the players we feel are right for the club.
“It is a very special club to be part of and we want to bring the lads in that we feel can enhance what we’ve already got.”
How much can Wrexham spend on players this summer
With a lot of work needing to be done on the squad now that they are in the second tier, big money is expected to be spent this summer.
One report has recently suggested Wrexham have a £25m transfer budget for the upcoming window.
While that figure may be somewhat accurate, the club do have more money available to spend if they wish.
Thanks to their excellent turnover in recent years and growing revenue sources in the form of sponsorship and TV deals, we learned from finance expert Adam Williams that Wrexham could have £40m available in their first Championship season.
