Confirmed: Tottenham Set to Hijack Leeds United’s Target – Daniel Farke Could Miss Out on Crucial Star

Spurs eye Leeds United target
With Leeds chairman Paraag Marathe confirming that Daniel Farke will play a key part in recruitment this summer, expect some signings from other leagues in Europe. The Whites have recently been linked with Franck Honorat, who plays for Farke’s former club Borussia Mönchengladbach.
Over the last week, Leeds have been linked with Panathinaikos fullback Georgios Vagiannidis. The report from Greece claimed that the Whites will fly scouts to watch the defender this weekend, with a view to making an initial bid when the summer window opens.
Now, Football Insider are reporting that Spurs have joined the race for the 23-year old. The Greek side are said to value Vagiannidis at £8.5million. Tottenham are reportedly eyeing the defender as a replacement for Pedro Porro, who is attracting interest from across Europe.
The London club could steal a march on Leeds United this summer. Everton are also said to be interested.
Leeds need quality depth
One thing most clubs overlook when coming up to the Premier League is having quality in reserves. Many newly promoted clubs fill up their starting lineups, while their bench lacks similar quality. Leeds already have Jayden Bogle who is a fantastic fullback, and is one of the best performers in the squad.
When the Premier League, FA Cup and League Cup ties come around, the club cannot expect him to play every game. This is where a signing like Vagiannidis comes in. He can play the cup ties to keep Bogle fresh. And for the fee mentioned, Leeds can easily make this deal. With Firpo and Sam Byram out of contract, the club will definitely need fresh legs at fullback.
