Nottingham Forest were given a bit of a fright by bottom-half team Tottenham away from home on Monday Night Football in the Premier League.

The Reds took the lead in the first half courtesy of a goal from Elliot Anderson who lashed home via a deflection from distance.

Shortly after, Chris Wood scored after also having a goal disallowed prior to his header that left the Tottenham goalkeeper with egg on his face after a horror attempt to clear.

It was the perfect opening 45 minutes from Forest to some degree, although had Wood’s goal been allowed to stand, a three-goal lead wouldn’t have flattered the Reds.

It was a strong performance from a number of players and naturally, pundits were on hand once again to ensure that Forest stars were given the praise which they deserved.

The midfielder has been a standout signing for the Reds and ultimately, he will be in the mix to win the Player of the Year award at the City Ground.

Anderson has been in fine form and although he came to the club having not really played regular football at this level across his career.

However, he’s thrived and he can look back on this performance as one of his strongest in a Forest shirt since he checked in from Newcastle.

Anderson was simply stunning and richly deserved his goal that started off a superb night for the Reds.
