Jobe Bellingham Transfer Twist: Bundesliga Giants Make Surprise Move in Sensational £21.2m Sunderland Swoop!
The Sunderland midfielder has been linked with a move away from the Stadium of Light after helping the Black Cats back to the Premier League
Sunderland star Jobe Bellingham will reportedly visit Eintracht Frankfurt today ahead of a possible move to the Bundesliga side this summer.
That’s according to Sky Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg who claims the Black Cats midfielder is attracting the attention of a number of German clubs heading into the summer transfer window.
Borussia Dortmund sent a delegation to Wearside earlier this month to hold talks with the England youth international ahead of a possible £21.2 million move to the Signal Iduna Park, while RB Leipzig are also said to been on a move for Jobe this summer.
There was a fear that Sunderland would lose Jobe had they not won promotion to the Premier League in their recent Championship play-off final triumph over Sheffield United. However, that win against the Blades offered a glimmer of hope to supporters, before the Black Cats star shared a number of cryptic posts on social media, prompting further speculation about his future.
Now, it seems as though Bundesliga clubs are going to ramp up their interest in the 19-year-old, regardless of Sunderland winning promotion back to the top flight though no agreement is yet in place.
Plettenberg tweeted: “Jobe #Bellingham will be visiting Eintracht Frankfurt today to get to know the club and hold talks. It is NOT a medical.
“#SGE Borussia Dortmund are also very keen on signing him. RB Leipzig remain interested as well. No agreements have been reached with any club yet. Open race.”
Speaking after the play-off final win over the Blades, Le Bris kept his cards close to his chest about any transfer interest in his players.
“At least we need to remember that the connection between players is often more important than the talent of one player,” Le Bris said. “For me as a manager, in football in general, sometimes we forget that it’s a collective sport.
“A collective effort and we tend to focus on one talent who made the difference but it’s not the main point. The main point is the way you work together.
“This squad was really impressive about their connection, even when it was tough they stayed connected and wanted to learn from their mistakes and so on. It was a strong feeling this season.”
